Thank God for our healthcare experts and our hospital.  As wonderful as the hospital is and as professional as the medical staff are, they are like an insurance policy, we’re glad we have them but we don’t want to have to use them.  As Christians we have another place to go for any and all crises, including a health issue like the one we are now faced with. One of the things that I have found myself doing, since there are other things that I cannot do, is reading the Bible.  As you know it is a constant reminder of God’s love for us, and the Bible reminds us that we can visit with Him -- even at 3 am.  The Bible also assures us that the place for us to turn and put our trust is in God who loves us with that love that knows all about us and still loves us.

T V news tells us that the stock market right now may not be a good place for us to place our trust.  They will also remind us that people all over the world are not in the best health that they have known.  So physically and financially, the world may not be a very good choice right now.  Those are two of the things that many of us have trusted in.  So dust off the Bible and read such things as Psalm 20: "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God".

Or, we might say,
We are so fortunate, we have the best small town hospital and staff, and most of them are local and we know their first names.  As wonderful as they are, we have a higher rung up the ladder, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

So we can say right now we don’t trust the financial institutions as much as we did a couple months ago, we are concerned about how to help our health and wanting to take every precaution:  we really do trust our health providers but our faith is in our God who lives in our heart.  In Matthew 28:20b we find one of His many promises:  “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

The coronavirus did not take God by surprise.  As Jesus reminds us in John 14: 27 “for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.”  It is important for us to wrap our minds around this and so many wonderful passages from the Bible.  This might be a good time to read our Bibles more and watch a bit less T V news.
We all need each other and certainly we need each other’s prayers.  Keep in touch with us, and let’s keep our light shining, because there may be people traveling down a dark path, who need a light to find their way.
