Helping Hands
Nominate Someone for us to be a blessing too.
The nomination box is located at the FUMC church. We can pretty much do anything. Just a few examples mow lawn, clean kitchen, or just sit and talk :)

Meals on wheels every Friday morning at 10:30 am
You can volunteer!!  For more information call 940-495-3691

Volunteers are the backbone of Meals On Wheels programs across the country. Not
only do they prepare and deliver meals to homebound seniors in their local
communities, but Meals On Wheels volunteers also provide the seniors they serve
with companionship and a warm, friendly smile when they arrive at the door.

RECYCLING MINISTRY
The recycling mission is taking off.  We have just received a large  green recycling bin from IESI that will  be collected once a week. We will now be able to recycle much more than we have been.

A list of items that CAN be collected for recycling:
paper including newspaper, magazines and phonebooks
 glass jars and bottles
cardboard
beverage containers
plastics
tin and steel ( no aerosol or paint cans).

All of these items may be placed in the bin together.  They do not have to be separated.
We will continue to have the small containers inside if you do not feel comfortable
to take them to the bin in the back of the church. We will still be collecting
plastic bags to be crocheted into sleeping
mats, and aluminum cans to be given to the Lions Club. The bins in the church will
still be labeled so we can keep track of the aluminum cans and the plastic bags.
The other items can be mixed together.
Please make sure that the glass, plastic and tin containers have been rinsed out.

Items that CAN NOT be recycled are:
styrofoam,
plastic grocery bags,
toilet paper or paper towels,
food wrappers,
 plate glass,
aluminum pie plates and foil,
 light bulbs,
 hazardous waste,
 alkaline batteries.

Collecting Plastic Bags--  The plastic bags will be crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless.  It takes approximately 600-800 bags to make each mat.
